What is the AHLP?
  • It’s a program that allows private individuals become successful livestock farmers right in their backyards, while receiving all the tools and support required to become very profitable. An average Livestock Farmer under the program can earn up to 2million Naira every 6 months.
Which animals can I raise under the program?
  • The AHLR focuses primarily on Goats, but can be extended to other small ruminants namely: Sheep and Rabbits.
What do I receive when I sign-up?
  • Africa House will provide you with everything you need to raise the animals from birth to slaughter. So, you don’t have to buy feed or worry about what your animals will eat.
How do I sell my animals after maturity?
  • You have the option to sell the animals yourself or Africa House can offtake the animals from you at maturity under the Africa House offtaker program.
Are there other hidden costs or expenses?
  • No. There are no hidden costs. All you have to do is provide drinking water for your animals.
Do I need a large land or space to do the program?
  • No. You don’t need a large space. In fact, the program was designed to allow individuals raise these livestock in their backyards and on unutilized spaces.
Can the program be extended to large animals like cows?
  • The program is designed primarily for small ruminants. However, large ruminants like cows may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
How do I get started?
  • There is an application link at the end of this video, and interested persons can simply fill the online form to get started.

Is the Program Profitable?
  • Yes, the program is very profitable.
  • We say 6-month cycle because at the end of 6 months, the animals reach maturity and are slaughtered for sale.
