Africa House Expands to Ghana with Keta Hydroponics, Reinforcing Its Position as Africa’s Leading Hydroponics and Climate-Smart Agriculture Company
Keta, Volta Region, Ghana — 2025
Africa House (Africa Hydroponics Limited) is rapidly emerging as Africa’s largest and most impactful hydroponics and climate-smart agriculture company following the expansion of its operations into Ghana, where it is currently establishingKeta Hydroponics by Africa House in the Volta Region.
The Volta coastal city of Keta carries a powerful climate history. About 40 years ago, large parts of the city were almost wiped out by devastating sea waves linked to climate change. Today, a new story of resilience, innovation, and renewal is unfolding. With the launch of Keta Hydroponics by Africa House, livelihoods are being restored and sustainable food production is returning to the heart of this historic coastal community.
Keta Hydroponics by Africa House is powered by avertical smart hydroponics system that produces harvestslarger than conventional soil-based farming on one acre, using an incredibly small footprint of just10 feet by 10 feet. In effect, a 10×10-foot hydroponics unit delivers yields that surpass one full acre of traditional farming—while remaining100% organic.
This breakthrough technology offers a powerful solution for regions of Ghana affected by illegal mining (galamsey), as well as urban and rural areas with degraded or poor soil conditions. With Africa House hydroponics systems, food can be grownall year round, without dependence on soil quality. Farmers can also grow crops during the dry season while savingover 90% of water compared to conventional agriculture.
In 2025, Africa House embarked on a nationwideGhana Hydroponics Tour, training women, youth, students, and farmers across the country. Notably, female farmers as old as 60 years in remote farming communities of the Volta Region were trained in hydroponics—demonstrating the inclusiveness, simplicity, and accessibility of the technology.
What truly distinguishes Africa House is its empowerment-driven approach. Beyond deploying systems, Africa House teaches communitieshow to build smart hydroponics systems themselves, reinforcing the timeless principle ofteaching people how to fish rather than giving them fish. This approach ensures sustainability, local ownership, and long-term impact.
Since 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Africa House has trainedover 2,000 people across Africa, working closely with governments, institutions, academia, and development partners. Recently, Africa House collaborated with theprestigious University of Ghana, alongside other key stakeholders, further strengthening its leadership in research-backed, community-centered agricultural innovation.
Today, Africa House stands as thelargest builder of smart and large-scale hydroponics kits for Africa and the global market—serving households, schools, institutions, and commercial farmers alike.
As Africa House looks ahead to2026 and beyond, the future is brighter than ever, driven by innovation, strategic partnerships, climate resilience, and a clear mission to transform food production across Africa and the world.
